Cliff jumping & swimming

What is a trip to powell without a boat trip up the channel looking for cliffs to jump off. We went on a short trip up the channel and when everyone got too warm we stopped and let the kids swim and jump. The places to jump were not the best, there were some sliding rocks, but bill, wade and whit found a good place they could climb up a crack in the wall and jump. When everyone had cooled off we loaded back up and continued on our way.

powell...horseshoes

Nate brought his horseshoe set, and after alot of raking had them set up and ready to go. It was one of the funnest things about the trip. I got a couple good shots of the game.

lake powell crafts

We made lots of fun crafts at Lake powell this year, a few were popcicle stick harmonicas, watches (aspen made hers into a necklace), water bottles, bracelets, duct tape wallets and I know I am forgetting some. That kept the kids busy, when they needed a break from swimming.

Jeff wakeboardn'

Because it has taken me so long to post the rest of the Lake Powell pictures I am going to have to do them in events, instead of days. All the days now are all blurred together. Darren took Jeff wakeboarding while we were there and he popped right out the first time. It took a few times for him to stay up, but he rocked! I was floored. The last time he tried anything like that was when he tried to ski. He ate lake for over an hour before he gave up. Whoot whoot Jeff!!!

Lake powell day 1

This was Austin the entire time. He just stayed behind the boat kicking his feet, not really going anywhere just paddling in place.
Whitney, logan, jackson, Lauren, and Wade on the water weenie.
The castle we worked on the whole trip.

Austin thought Jackson's new boat was pretty neat.

When we got there Darren and Nate had shaved their heads. jeff decided he was game to join them. Dont let Whitney hear you say you want your hair done. She is quick too voulenteer. Kerri said Jeff maybe had shaved his sweater along with his head :) He's a good sport.

Lauren and I

After a long countdown it was finally Lake Powell time. The kids were counting the days a couple weeks in advance. It turned out to be one of the best trips yet. Darren had his houseboat the same week as Dad, so we had plenty of room for everyone.

4th half marathon

Jeff and I ran the neola half marathon together on the morning of the 3rd. Although I did not get pics of the race I did get a picture when we without planning wore our matching shirts on Sunday. (arent we cute) I took off a bit fast on the half marathon and ended up having a side ache that slowed me down the last couple miles. Jeff caught up with me and we ran the last couple miles together. I kept telling him just go if you feel like you could go faster, but he stayed and we ran together. When we got to the finish line we were about to cross and I grabbed jeffs arm and passed him, in jest. So I beat him, but technically he could have trashed me :) I ran a 1:51 so not my PR but ok. I wont run without my watch again. I asked greg wheeler what our pace was at mile 6 and he said 7:45 then and average of 8:15 with the uphill at the first. Wonder why I got a side ache. My mom and Dad came and cheered for us and that was cool. Whit ran the 5k while we were running and then we borrowed Dad's boat and took the kids boating. What a awesome day, life is good!
