Shamrock Half Marathon
In my training for the Ogden Marathon in May I thought it would be good to try a half marathon in the middle of my training. The Shamrock Half last weekend in Saratoga Springs lined up perfectly with my training. Liz and I and her friend Kami decided to sign up. We were excited to run out in the city, thinking we would get to run in a little warmer weather. We went out on Friday, and all afternoon was very cold with wind and some snow. Saturday morning when we got to the start it was 20 degrees. We so did not want to get out of the car. Once the race started, however, the sun came up and the temperature was not even a issue. The race was a very pretty run, with lots of hills. I could tell my training was better for this race than the last one I did. When I finished I felt great and took 5 minutes off my time even with the hills.

Austy
Tuesday at Whitney's game Austin made everyone on our bleacher's sides hurt from laughing. After the fresh/soph game we went to the High School for the JV game. Because I am such an awesome mom, my younger kids were just running around and playing on the track. Well of course little boys are going to go straight for the sandbox (long-jump pit). I really was just watching the game and not paying attention, and they were behind us. When I turned around to check on them Austy is naked except his tshirt. He has his underwear in his hands shaking them. He had got sand in his underwear so he stripped and was getting the sand out. My phone starts ringing and it's some of Whitneys classmates laughing asking me if I was aware my kid was playing in the sand naked. Austin returned a while later with his jeans on wrong side out. I said hey austin your pants are wrong side out. No mom they are right see. And he showed me his snap on his waistband, that he had rolled so he could button them on the outside. Kids are so funny. I wish I had brought my camera to that game, it was great!
Whit's first home game
Whit had her first home High School softball game this last Tuesday. Although the final score was not what they hoped I thought the girls did a great job. Whit had her wisdom teeth out a couple days before so she played 2nd base instead of 1st, just to be safe (you can see how puffy her cheeks still are in the pictures). She did a great job. She hit a 2 base hit, and that made her day. She had lots of friends and family show up to watch and that always means alot to a teenager. Thanks everyone for supporting her so much. Sabrina is playing softball too so they have been having alot of fun. As much as I would love Whit to play basketball and track, I guess we are going to be softball and volleyball supporters for a while.
